Things I Like

I like going on walks on hot summer days with no clothes on.

I especially like walks with Daddy.

I like my new clubhouse. Mommy made it for me out of an old Dell box. It is the perfect size for me and a friend.

I like sitting up on my very own.

I like the Steelers

I like taking books off the shelf and then looking at all the pictures.

I like this outfit that my grandma's gave me. "When God made me He was just showing off" t-shirt from Grandma Janice and my camo shorts from Grammy Sandy.

Smiley Riley

June has been a great month for us with a few first.
We now are the parents of a scoocher. Yes, Riley is starting to scooch. It all started Thursday night when Griff and I were eating calzones on the living room floor while watching Riley roll around. He caught a glimpse of my plate and the next thing we new he was making moves towards it. We were so excited and in shock. This home is not baby proof. So, I have made a little play area for Riley on the living room floor with body pillows as the boundaries.
Riley has also started real food. We started with peas, then green beans, followed by sweet potatoes last week and now carrots. He loved the sweet potatoes but I don't think he loved the peas. Good thing I did those first so he had nothing to compare them to but rice cereal. I am loving my days with Riley and enjoying this season of life more and more. It is such a joy to walk into his room and see his smiling face staring back at me. We feel truly blessed. Enjoy some of the recent pictures.

6 Months! Whoa!

Riley is six months old today! Horray! Yesterday we went to the doctor for his six month check-up and he weighed 14 pounds 14 ounces and was 28 1/4 inches long. He has gained over 10 pounds from birth! Praise the Lord for the many ways He has watched over our little guy and kept him growing big and strong.

Riley loves being on his belly and anytime we lay him in his crib to sleep he is instantly on his tummy. After I (Sharon) gave up trying to constantly turn him back over he is sleeping great. He continues to sleep through the night with occasional nights of crying. I think that may be due to him teething. Still no teeth yet but he is drooling like nothing I have ever seen. His eczema which was a huge problem this winter is all but gone, except for two bad patches behind his knees.

Riley has a new toy too, a walker. He is really enjoying being upright and loves to watch me in the kitchen while I am making dinner or doing laundry. I am really enjoying this season of life...when he is very interactive but not mobile. We have a lot of work to do in order to get this house baby proof.

A Day In My Life

Hi everyone, Mommy thought it may be fun for me to tell all of you what I do during my day so here you go.

7am I wake up. I can't wait to see Mommy walking into my room and hear her say, "Good morning, Riley David." This is me in my bed in this picture. Isn't it a cool bed.

After I wake up Mommy feeds me and then we play on the floor while Mommy makes and eats her breakfast. Mommy likes bagels with cinnamon and sugar. Someday I think I will like them too. They sure look good.

Then I take a nap. I take a few of these during the day. It sure is nice to rest in my bed.

After my morning nap there is more eating, playing and sleeping. The best part of the day is when Daddy comes home! I love to play with Daddy.

After playing with Daddy and dinner it is off to bed for me. It has been another great day. Mommy and Daddy take me upstairs, lay me in bed and help me say my prayers. Thanks God for another great day!

Enjoying Uncle Andy

This weekend Griff's brother Andy got to come and visit us. Riley just loved Andy's beard and was all smiles anytime Andy held him.
Riley is blowing bubbles like crazy now and making lots of vowel sounds. Any day now I know he will be saying "daddy". He is becoming more mobile daily. Every time I lay him in his crib I lay him in the middle and when he wakes he has usually turned at least 90 degrees and is along the side of the crib unable to move further.
Today I was packing up some preemie clothes of his to send to his new friend Elijah and I couldn't believe he once fit in them. Wow! Was he really that small at one point?! He weighs about 14 pounds now and is eating great. Soon we will be trying peas. Stay tuned for that.

I'm 5 Months Old

I'm now 5 months old and moving like crazy. Grammy Sandy and Grandpap Kevin gave me this great outfit this past weekend. This is my first pair of shorts and my first tank. Bring on summer! I'm rolling over like crazy, talking a lot and grabbing everything that comes close and trying to put it in my mouth.

A couple weeks ago Mommy and I both had our Penn State shirts on so Daddy joined in the fun and we had a Penn State day.

This past weekend Grammy Sandy and Grandpap Kevin came to visit me. They brought me some new fun summer clothes and they spoiled me like crazy. I love it! We all took a walk down to the Market on Saturday and got breakfast there from the vendors and then Grammy and Grandpap watched me while Mommy and Daddy went on a date. It was a great weekend and I was really sad to see them leave yesterday but I think I will see them again soon. Mommy and Daddy tell me I have a new cousin, Simon, so hopefully we will go meet him this summer and I can see Grandpap and Grammy again.

I also have four new friends! Betsy and Morgan had Rachel on Thursday. Then, on Friday Elijah was born to Dawn and Shun-Luoi and Jamie and Susan had Ben. And finally yesterday Jason and Amy had Zoey. I am so excited to meet my new friends!
